About Our Family
Its story is grounded in the work, care, faith, and determination of generations who understood the value of protecting land and passing it forward.
Born on October 3, 1902 in Emanuel County, Georgia, Harry Baldwin was raised in a hardworking farming family and helped continue the agricultural traditions passed down through generations. His parents, Charlie Baldwin and Mattie Cotton Baldwin, lived and worked in the Swainsboro and Stillmore communities during the early 1900s.
The Baldwin family worked the land, raised crops, and contributed to the local agricultural economy during a time when land ownership was a significant achievement for African American families in the rural South.
Emily Baldwin of Emanuel County, Georgia, was recognized as one of Georgia's top 4-H youth leaders in 1950. She earned state recognition at Savannah State College for excellence in agricultural leadership, project work, and community service.
Her dedication to the 4-H values of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health continues to inspire the mission of HMH Wellness & Farm today.
